The pretty amazingAngelina Jolieturns 39 today, and I'm celebrating by gathering some of the pictures where she looks most birthday girl-ish.Well-dressed,wide-smile,and all-around happy. So while none of these is from her actual celebrations, she fits my criteria (happy and in something fabulous) in each of them.
The classic birthday girl's night-out dress (sequins and sparkly) works on Angelina too,who picked this LBD for the premiere ofSaltback in 2010.
But personally,if I was the b-day girl and happened to be a mega movie star,I'd skip over the party dress in favor of something glamorous and preferably with a very long train.Enter this chocolate number she wore in Cannes in 2011.I'd also find a party locale involving a staircase so I'd have the ideal situation for showing it off.
Doesn't she look like a power woman strutting somewhere fabulous for a chic celebratory dinner in this sleek black suited number?
But if I know Angelina (though,of course,I don't),I think she'd pick a day out with her family over a fancy dinner any year.Pieces that are loose, easy, and black seem to make up her signature off-duty uniform,so I doubt she'd switch it up.
Sharing what I'm imagining is a joke with Brad, she looks pretty happy, which is how I hope all birthday girls feel.Beside the joyful expression on her face,I love the long row of buttons that go from the top of the dress to the hemline.
For an alternative to the birthday dress, she could totally rock this tux she wore at this year's British Academy Film Awards.
But let's be honest: There's a pretty good chance Ange would pick a sexy gown with a high leg slit (if we're looking at her track record.) The style looks fabulous on her,but I find myself partial to the combo she picked for the premiere ofKung Fu Panda 2that looked to be a high-waisted skirt and silk tee.
This looks to be the most divine sweaterdress ever in existence. In my opinion, birthdays were made for wearing those sort of out-of-this-world pieces. In other news, can we just pretend Brad's whispering,"Happy birthday, doll—you're phenomenal" in her ear?
What would be your ideal birthday-girl outfit?Anybody out there wanting to wear something with a high slit like Ange?
