Maggie GyllenhaalandGwen Stefanihave both nursed in public, andSalma Hayeksparked a controversy when she breastfed other women's babies in Sierra Leone in 2009.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and be perfectly honest with you: I kind of think it's a little bit awkward.(Maybe because my first memory is watching my mom's friend breastfeed her son in a store and I was just...so...perplexed.) But I don't have a kid and I'm sure that if I did,I'd probably change my tune.

See,this is kind of a two-layered issue.First: Is it a Do or a Don't to breastfeed in public at all,no matter who you are?__

Is it a Do or a Don't to breastfeed in public?

And second,is it a Do or a Don't forcelebsto make a statement by breastfeeding in public?Sure, they're people just like everybody else, but being famous means everything they do that's not completely private (and sometimes even the stuff thatisprivate) is viewed as a major assertion, from wearing a gay pride T-shirt to driving a hybrid car.

Is it a Do or a Don't for CELEBS to make a statement by breastfeeding in public?

__Tell me why in the comments—I'm curious!
