It's a tale as old as time: Boy and girl sign on for a movie.Boy and girl film said movie and dance their way into each other's hearts.Boy and girl get married and become a major Hollywood power couple.Just your average relationship, right? In case you haven't guessed,we're talking aboutChanning TatumandJenna Dewan Tatum,a couple that's the definition of relationship goals. And believe it or not,the masterpiece that brought them together (Step Up,of course) is turning 10 years old!
In celebration of this major milestone,we took a look back at the film—only to realize that the final dance number that blew our minds in 2006 was essentially just Channing and Jenna proposing to each other with dance moves.
Let's break it down:
When the music starts, the Dewan Tatums are just doing their own thing.Jenna is dancing with her crew,Channing is doing lots of arm movements with his.But even while they're apart, they can't help but be in sync.
Finally, their eyes meet, and their expressions clearly say,"Let's get married."
Romancing ensues.Jenna charms her future husband with an impressive high kick.Channing kind of gets down on one knee.
Then they pull off what has to be the most beautiful trust fall this world has ever known.
OK,we're pretty sure they almost kissed here (but didn't because, you know, their characters are supposed to be at school performing in an important showcase).
GUYS.If this isn't true love,we don't know what is.
Channing and Jenna go on to break it down with some popping and locking, while still managing to look like graceful swans. We're pretty sure they're just affirming to each other here that they'll always be cool, even as they grow old together.(They are,by the way).
And at last, they end up where they belong: in each other's arms.
I guess all we're trying to say is that in that dance number,we watched a love story unfold. Here's to the next 10 years of Channing and Jenna.
