The photo above is of the "Giveaway Table" at work—an ever-changing smorgasbord of snacks that people want to share (or just get off of their desks).Every office has some version of this—at least a candy dish. But this one is located RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY DESK.Seriously.That's my chair you see in the picture—at eye-level with the cupcakes.
To be completely honest, the mounds of food on giveaway don't usually bother me.I plan what I'm going to eat each morning and it's like I don't even have to choose whether or not to pick at the cupcakes and chocolate—that decision has already been made.(Nighttime, when I'm home,is really the hardest for me—more on that later.) Whatisstarting to bother me a little bit though are the comments from other girls in the office (all of whom know I'm doing this plan and some of whom read this blog—hi guys!). A sampling from the cupcakes/chocolate/focaccia day:
"Whoa—is it tempt-Sunny day?" >
"Do you want me to move this stuff away from you? It's not fair!" >
"Sunny, want one of these chocolates? Can I be your diet saboteur?"
Weirdly, now, with everyone bringing it up all of the time,I feel like I'm missing out when I used to happily ignore the stuff all day long—and I'm also starting to feel like I'm under a microscope!I'm sure the same sort of thing has happened to you—once people have found out that you're on a shape-up kick, what kind of things have they said?
