How many of you are heading home for the holidays this year?I'm actually staying in New York--my sister is coming to visit me!--but when I flew home for Thanksgiving,I got a really great glimpse at my parents' relationship. So,on the heels of thesad split between Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins(who were together for 23 years!),I'm wondering if you dolls have ever taken a good look at how your folks interact.
Here's the cute thing I witnessed when I went home last month...
It all started when my mom woke up on the morning of Turkey Day.She put the bird in the oven, and minutes later, the power went out!Hungry family members and friends were expecting to eat said turkey—the pinnacle of the festive meal—and my mom didn't have the power to roast the sucker.Needless to say,she was a wee bit stressed.
In the middle of all this,my dad ran out to pick up a few last-minute things for the meal. When he came back,he was holding the most beautiful bouquet of roses. It was the sweetest thing! My sister and I were swooning. We hadn't dropped him any hints…he decided to pick the flowers up on his own.(Good job,Dad!) We both agreed that our parents' relationship set a really great example for us.
My dad on his birthday this year.
Me,my mom and my sister (Dad was behind the camera here).
And,just in case you're wondering, the power came back on in the nick of time, and the turkey came out beautifully.
What's your parents' relationship like?Do you find yourself mimicking it?Or,do you want to have a totally different kind of relationship?Have you ever witnessed a really sweet moment between your folks?
