Full disclosure: I haven't waxed or threaded myeyebrowsin about six months.I'm cheap and would rather pluck a stray hair every once in a while than go in for the full thing. As such,I checked in withErwin Gomez, who is make up artist to stars such as Jennifer Garner,Eva Longoria and Rosario Dawson andowns his own salonin Washington DC,for tips on how to get perfect eyebrows at home.
A quick trim is often the best way to reveal the natural arch of your brows:"When brows are too long, women often tweeze or wax more hair than is necessary," says Gomez."Always trim your hair before you start tweezing, especially if it's long and bulky.Follow the hairline of your brows, taking care to not cut too short as that will give you a bald spot. Then, comb your hair with a disposable mascara brush."
Figure out your desired shape:"Using a pencil, draw an imaginary line from the tip of the side of your nostril to your brow. That's where your eyebrow begins and where you should start shaping."
Find the highest point in your arch to determine what to tweeze and what to leave:"To determine your arch, line up a pencil over your pupil. This is the highest point of the arch."
Use a celebrity as your inspiration:"Look for stars with face shapes and structures similar to your own," suggests Gomez."But never follow the trends.Abide by the bone structure of your own face.Think of it in this way,if you have a 4x6 picture frame, you need a 4x6 picture to fill it,perfectly."
