We've all had that phase where we doodle baby names in our notebook.Oh,wait,I'm always in that phase. And I thought my picks were all locked up--until this year's TV season.
There's a reason TV is so influential when it comes to names--you hear them over and over, you associate them with shiny, pretty people.I vaguely remember that around the time I was born, soap operanames like Brooke and Laura were huge.
But I've never drawn much inspiration from my favorite shows--until this year.My #1 girls' name will always be Lucy (there,I've spoiled the surprise of my eventual baby)--it's my middle name and my grandmother's.But for girls going forward, the field is now wide open to:
Not a character name, but's been a huge year forMaya Rudolph, and I've always liked her name,so it's on the upswing.
I think we all know how obsessed I am withHappy Endings, and while Penny is all whimsical delight,Eliza Coupe让我重新考虑这很经典。Ooh,what about Eliza?Liza?Hmm.
This sassyDowntonlady really got to me.She was the first to wear pants!I want my kid to have that kind of moxie. One catch: I'd have to hear a lot of people say it in a regular old American twang. The romantic Victorian Brit accent may have contributed here.
God,I love baby names. You can all look forward to my blog of the future,Megan and Erik + 24 Unwashed But Extremely Awesomely Named Daughters.
