What could two dudes possibly know about running a women's clothing boutique? As it turns out,a lot.Pas de Deux,my new favorite New York obsession,is owned by Paul Birardi and Eddy Chai (brother of the designer Richard Chai),a pair of guys with impeccable taste and an uncanny understanding of exactly what I want in my closetright this second.See what's in store now and get a glimpse of what's coming next season, after the jump.

The story's kind of a fairytale,really...Paul and Eddy started a teeny tiny men's boutique called Odin a few years ago in the East Village. The shop was stocked so thoughtfully with wares from Comme des Garcons and Cheap Monday and Shipley & Halmos and their stylish male customers were so grateful that soon the shop was too itty bitty to meet their customers' demand, and they opened a second, bigger, shop a few blocks away. Then they took over the space next door with a chic little experimental boutique called Den,where they featured just one label at a time. And now,we ladies get our due with Pas de Deux,AKA,your dream closet.

The williamhill388beauty of the store lies in the selection: carefully chosen pieces fromAlexander Wang,Karen Walker,3.1 Phillip Lim,Repetto,Phillip Crangi, andLoeffler Randall.Come next season,Eddy's giving his brother some love with the addition of a few pieces fromRichard Chai,as well as BOY by Band of Outsiders and some amazing pieces you can't get anywhere else in the U.S.But the real reason I want to spend all day in the store is that it's absolutely beautiful!"Who designed your interiors?" I asked Paul on a recent visit. He laughed."Um,Eddy and me?" The pair scoured vintage shops for furniture and fixtures and designed their own wallpaper and somehow, brought a gentleman's touch to a very feminine shop.Oh and,as for that fairy tale ending?Paul recently quit his day job and made "shop owner" his full-time gig.
