I'm a sucker for weddings that give you a clear sense of who the couple is.To me,those are way more memorable than those dime-a-dozen platinum weddings that all have the same stuffy feel.Melina and Matthew's Kansas City,Missouri, wedding falls into the former camp, fortunately.

Right from the get-go,the couple set out to make their wedding uniquely theirs. The groom is from North Carolina,so dogwood trees played a big part in the stationery and wedding-day decor. And that cuff in the top right? It had Melina's new initial on it,and she wore it on her wrist.

The bride's bouquet of succulents, craspedia, and peonies,is the perfect blend of elegant, natural, and pure fun.It really set the tone for the rest of the wedding.

To complete her look, the bride wore this funky hairpiece that's every bit as sophisticated, yet laid-back,as her bouquet.

Grey suits complemented the bridesmaids' short, navy dresses (that they really can wear again!).And back to the bride: How gorgeous are those billowy tiers on her dress?!

Onto the ceremony.Besides the fact that this flower girl is so stinking adorable, she's carrying a bright-yellow lollipop. You can be sure that's responsible for her expression of pure joy.

And this is the shot that blew me away.I've seen pomanders hang from shepherd's hooks, but never fabric-covered boxes strung with ribbon. The fabric's intricate design is stunning all in rows like this.

Wish I thought of this! The couple asked their guests to sign their favorite children's books, which they're going to give to their one-day kids.I would have loved to read well wishes for my parents alongside Dr.Seuss rhymes.

The centerpieces of books, blooms, photos, and candelabras were also more interesting than your standard flowers-only arrangement. And since the candles melted throughout the night, guests got a different wax sculpture at their tables every minute.

A shout-out to the lab they love who wasn't invited, guests could stock up on dog treats to bring home to their prized pooches at the end of the night.

So sweet, right?Which is your favorite detail?Any other brides-to-be hoping to pay homage to a four-legged friend who won't be present at the wedding? How are you all personalizing your day?
