Say what you want aboutTaylor Swift, but her new album,Reputation, actually goes pretty hard. It's an energetic collection of slick,Max Martin–produced pop songs with relentless hooks, clever lyrics, and just enough pettiness to keep social media intrigued. The record pretty much dominated the news cycle for the last two months of 2017,and it's going to take over the world—literally—in 2018.Swift is embarking on aReputationinternational tour,so these songs are about to be remixed and revisited in a whole new way.Full disclosure,I've been bopping to this album consistently since November 10.
Apparently Swift has too.The pop star released a playlist of her current favorite songs last night, and two of them are hers fromReputation:"Delicate" and "End Game." So this means in between jamming out to Camila Cabello and Julia Michaels,Swift is lip-synching for her life to herownsongs, which is pretty delicious.
It's obvious why "Delicate" is on this list. The song, which is number five on the album,is a critical favorite—a lush, slow burner in which Swift agonizes over coming off too strong with a guy she's into.(The subject of the song is presumably her boyfriend,English actor Joe Alwyn, but there are plenty of othertheories too.) "End Game" is an interesting choice, but it still makes sense;the Ed Sheeran– and Future-assisted track is Swift's current single,so perhaps she put it on this playlist to give it a much-needed boost. The song is currently sitting at number 43 on theBillboardHot 100 charts.
Take a look at the rest of Swift's playlist, below. It's a lot of underground, indie pop.
Where is "King of My Heart," though?
