I'm off to Florida (or already there, depending on when you read this) and wanted to leave the blog with a nice Thanksgiving-themed post that we can feast on throughout the holiday weekend (pardon the bad pun,I couldn't resist).* *I know talking about what we're all thankful for on Thanksgiving isn't exactly an orignal idea (or new to this blog...seethings to smile aboutfrom a few weeks ago) but it's always a good one.And I figure just when we're about to lose it on a sister or a mother-in-law or a loving husband who doesn't understand why you have to make four pies for eight people and one baby (thanks for the great recipes,伙计们！），we can jump on the blog and remind one another of all the wonderful stuff in our lives. Here are just a few of the things I'm thankful for (in no particular order...):
My happy,健康，饥饿的小男孩(see mylatest columnfor all the tear-jerky details)
Nick, for taking such good care of Alex and me the past two and half months--and for making me laugh out loud every day,no matter how bad my MRSA-infested body feels (or looks...the boob, the belly,拉伸痕迹，oh my!)
My parents--and everything they do for Nick and Alex and me.And__my sisters and brother-in-law,Ysrael,__ and how much we love one another despite the fact that we spend a riduclous amount of time together and sometimes--just sometimes--get on one another's nerves (Meghan, when you told me that it would be really "helpful" if I could drop off your golf clubs at your apartment, you said it like I was your assistant and I wanted kill you.But I love you!)
My health. While it isn't the best right now,I know it could be a lot worse. My cancer didn't come back and there is nothing better than that.
Dr.Mauro.Everyone deserves to have a person as kind and gentle and super smart as him in their lives, whether he's your doctor or just your friend.I can't imagine navigating the past six years--especially the last year--without him.I sleep well at night knowing he's in my corner.
My mother-in-law.I really lucked out in this department.Debbie is so loving and fun and she and I get along really well (yes, she lives in Michigan, but I swear that's not why!).She's a nurse and she calls to check on me all the time, especially lately, and she reads the blog every day (hi Debbie,we miss you!) and she's coming to see us over Christmas and we can't wait!
我的新房子。Yes,we bought a house! No more one-bedroom apartment for the Ruddys (we didn't last long, huh?).We close next week and then I'll fill you in on the details,I promise...don't want to jinx anything!
This blog.I've said it once, and I'll say it again: I love writing the blog and I love that all of you阅读the blog.Of course Nick would prefer I spend a little less time on the computer and a little more time cleaning up after my messes (I had a hard-boiled egg catastrophe a few days ago that I left in the sink and Nick almost leftme).
OK,that's all I've got time for right now,but I will be updating.一定要分享你所感激的，并经常核对……我认为在电脑上打字会消耗一两卡路里！Happy Thanksgiving.XO--Erin
